September is here and, for many of us, that means school is back in session and the freeform days of Summer have ended. As the days grow shorter we begin to settle into our “normal” routines of cooking and eating meals at home all while trying to keep up with hectic schedules at school and work. We find ourselves holding on to the last waning days of Summer and attempting to eek out every last bit of enjoyment – eating all the corn and tomatoes, getting in one more outdoor concert or after dinner bike ride. But, secretly, we are looking forward to the coziness and comforts of fall – soup on the stove, apple treats in the oven and fires in the fireplace.

In our little corner of the country, September is an amazing time for local produce. Whatcom Country celebrates Eat Local Month each September with dozens of the events featuring all of our favorite local farmers and producers. This year we are excited to celebrate ACME Farms + Kithchen’s 5th Anniversary as well as Eat Local Month with two delicious events.

We hope you can join us for either our Fried Chicken Family Picnic or our Farm to Table Summer Harvest Dinner on September 17th.

Be sure to place your order this week to savor the last remaining weeks of our summer harvest. We can’t wait for the White Cheddar Corn Chowder and first of the season Apples!
